Heading south

Today hasn’t been my most inspiring day so far. In fact probably the best thing about it is that I have progressed about 50 km south with a tail wind most if the time.
I was given a good breakfast at the Giethoorn B&B, shared with a nice couple from Taiwan, and headed away about 8.45 but had only gone a few hundred metres when it started to rain. So out with my enormous poncho/cape,which covers the handle bars, my whole body and damn near covers the paniers. So I’m sailing along feeling like an 18 th century battle ship under full sail. Its a good thing I was going down wind!
I got to Zwolle about midday and found a market in full swing, and very busy. It did not feel safe to leave my bike with all the gear on so I wandered around a little and took a couple of photos before continuing south. While I was standing looking puzzled, map in hand a couple stopped to help and they led me to the next info point. It turned out that they had lived in NZ and had just returned from visiting their son and one year old son in Auckland. The man had a wonderful moustache which I will remember forever.
At Witje I went to the tourist info. To see if they could find me a B&B, because tonight is predicted to get down to 4 degrees, but had no luck, so after a coffee and toasted sandwich, I’ve come on to Den Nul to a new camping ground (photo above).
While I was riding back from the pub where I had tea I passed a group of about 30 people out for a ride in their velo solex bikes all wearing identical orange (the dutch colour) vests.
